Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf’s opponents won a big election victory on Tuesday after voters rejected his former ruling party; this is perhaps the very first ray of hope for the much-awaited Democracy in Pakistan.
Nawaz leading in the elections shows that the suspicious elections are now taking a fair move. But then on the flip side, this move might be disappointing for the US, as it might be raising questions about the future of the U.S. ally who has ruled since 1999.
Considering the present situation, it is commendable to see the percentage of voting in our neighborhood, and perhaps Indians might have a lot to learn from this.
